CLEVELAND - Cleveland police honored the fallen during a parade and ceremony in downtown Cleveland on Friday for the 28th annual Police Memorial Commemoration.
The memorial parade stepped off at 10:30 a.m. at East 12th and Lakeside and ended at the Greater Cleveland Peace Officers Memorial in Huntington Park at West Third Street.
Pipes and Drums, marching bands, color guards, police cars and special response vehicles participated.
The Memorial Service shows support and honors those who have given their lives in the line of duty --"Never Forgotten."
The Greater Cleveland Peace Officers Memorial Society honors and preserves the memories of peace officers who gave their lives in the performance of service to their communities and the nation; and provides support to the families of fallen officers.
On Saturday evening, the International Police Tattoo will be held at the Cleveland Public Auditorium.
Each May, the Police Memorial Society sponsors the Greater Cleveland Police Memorial Commemoration in conjunction with National Police Week and Peace Officers Memorial Day (May 15th).
