NORTH OLMSTED, Ohio - North Olmsted Mayor Kevin Kennedy helped Westfield officials cut the ceremonial ribbon shortly before lunchtime Thursday morning to officially open the multi-million dollar dining court in the Westfield Great Northern Mall.
The mall now features a new and improved family-friendly dining court. There's a kids' dining area within the dining court, featuring child-sized seating, complimentary high chairs and a designated area for parking strollers.
Chicken Wow, Yogurt VI and Ruby Thai Kitchen were added to the mall's current eateries of Chop It Salad Co., Stir Fry 88, Charley's Grilled Subs, Sarku Japan and Subway. New eateries are planned to open in the future.
Parents with small children now have a place to take a break in the new family lounge. The lounge features private nursing rooms, changing stations, a microwave and a warm baby wipe dispenser. The lounge will also have a private restroom with child and adult-sized fixtures. Parents and kids will be able to watch family-friendly videos on a flat screen TV in the lounge as well.
Celebration of the grand opening will continue through Sunday, November 6, with family fun events featuring The Rockin' robots, face painters, balloon artists and jugglers.
The mall is also partnering with the city of North Olmsted and Canstruction to host a canned food drive to benefit the Oxcart Food Pantry from November 3 through December 24. Shoppers can donate canned goods at the Westfield concierge. During the food drive, Canstruction will be taking all of the canned goods donated and building a unique structure in the mall.
Before the ribbon cutting, Westfield presented the Oxcart Food Pantry with a check for $1,000.
