On Friday morning, the dog warden received a phone call from a woman saying there was a dead deer in her pond on McCreary Road between Wallings and Sprague roads.
The dog warden came out and pulled the animal's body from the water only to find it wasn't a deer. It was Sienna, with her collar and tags on and a bullet wound to her chest.
"This is not over and Sienna's death will ring loud to bring more awareness to the atrocities to our animals this region and state have endured," said Sienna's owner on Facebook.
Sienna's body is with the Cleveland APL and an autopsy is scheduled.
"I pray that the city would be extremely vigilant in looking for the murderer as Broadview Heights just passed a ‘No Hunting' law and there was no excuse for shooting her…We have closure in knowing that she isn't being tortured or fought, but we are deeply hurt knowing we won't receive her slurpies any more."
The family thinks the person who shot Sienna may have been a hunter because the bullet wound was so close to her heart.
On Facebook, the family thanked everyone for their support and hopes Sienna's killer is found and brought to justice.
