OAKWOOD, Ohio - Crews worked Friday night to recover the body of a man who fell down a cliff in the Bedford Reservation, rangers said.
The man slid 50 feet down an embankment near the Lost Meadows picnic area, according to Cleveland Metroparks rangers. A person walking by spotted the man and called for help at about 5:45 p.m.
The man was not responding to rescuers and rangers stopped calling it a rescue attempt shortly after 8 p.m. The Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner's Office has identified the man as 37-year-old Randy Prosen of Northfield.
"It looks like he slipped and fell," Metroparks spokeswoman Monica Banks Hines said. Foul play is not suspected.
Rangers said they do not know how long Prosen was down there.
The Bedford Reservation stretches into parts of Bedford, Bedford Heights, Oakwood, Valley View and Walton Hills.
