CLEVELAND - MetroHealth is celebrating their new breast cancer center in Cleveland.
This state-of-the-art facility features minimall- invasive breast procedures. They have two of the new 3D mammography scanners, which may soon make 2D scans a thing of the past.
MetroHealth now has these 3D scanners at all of their mammography centers.
"We do it in a sweeping arc that gives us multiple low dose pictures that are then reconstructed into very thin slices like with a CAT scan," said Michael McNamara MD, the center's chief of breast imaging and intervention.
The new scans give much more information which increases the chance for early detection and decreases the chance you will be re-called for additional imaging.
The center is located at 4330 West 150th Street, Cleveland, Ohio, 44111.
