The Mentor community helped police arrest one man in connection with an attempted burglary early Friday morning. Police say another man remains at large.

Officers responded to an alarm at a Tyler Boulevard dealership around around 5 a.m. Friday morning and say they saw two men fleeing the building. Police say a stolen minivan with its doors wide open was found sitting in the parking lot. The minivan was reported stolen from Warrensville Heights.

Police say they received tips from the community about two suspicious men lurking in the neighborhoods around Tyler Boulevard and State Route 2. One resident reported that their car was broken into near the dealership.

Around 8:30 a.m. police arrested 24-year-old Ashland Huggins of Cleveland on SR 2 with the help of their K9 officer Titan and the citizen's tips. Huggins admitted to entering the dealership and trying to steal the car that was reported broken into.

Police say Huggins has been charged with breaking and entering, receiving stolen property and attempted motor vehicle theft. He's scheduled to be arraigned in Mentor Municipal Court on Monday.

The second man is still at large, according to police.
