CLEVELAND - Names were released of the two victims who were killed Friday on Cleveland’s east side, after an alleged domestic violence altercation.
The victims have been identified as Dominique Jones, 27, and Lerod L Stafford, 38, both of Cleveland, according to the Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner’s Office.
At around 1:50 p.m. Friday, Cleveland police responded to the 9200 block of Amesbury Avenue near E. 90th Street, for a report of a woman in the street.
When crews arrived, police said Jones was found with gunshot wounds to her chest and arm. Police said a kitchen knife was also found near her body.
Jones was transported to MetroHealth Medical Center, where she later died.
During the investigation, police learned of a second body on Amesbury Ave.
Officers located Stafford’s body inside of a home. He had been stabbed multiple times in the chest, according to police.
Officers said a gun was also found on the porch of the home.
The Medical Examiner responded, pronouncing Stafford dead at the scene.
Police said the incident is believed to be domestic violence and the involved parties, according to witnesses, had been together for approximately 10 years.
Their deaths remain under investigation.
