Man who threatened to kill former Cleveland cop back in court for probation violation

CLEVELAND - The man accused of threatening to kill Cleveland's former "super cop" will be back in court Wednesday after skipping out on his court ordered sentence Monday.

Cleveland Municipal Court Judge Pinkey Carr sentenced Richard Dameron, 58, to 90 days in jail and to stand outside of Cleveland Police Second District headquarters with a sign that reads " I apologize to Officer Simone, his family, all law enforcement officers and Ms. Adkins for threatening to kill them. I was being an idiot and it will never happen again."

This, after Dameron threatened his son's girlfriend and Officer Simone back in February. He was arrested and charged with aggravated menacing and four counts of making false alarms through 9-1-1.

Dameron was a no show Monday outside of CPD 2nd District and was later arrested and hauled back to jail. He was scheduled to be out with his sign from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m., Monday June 3 through Friday, June 7.

Cleveland's 2nd District Police headquarters is located at 3481 Fulton Road.
