A man shot earlier this month by a Cuyahoga County Sheriff's officer was indicted earlier this week for an incident that unfolded near the Galleria.

Louis Doss, 27, had a loaded gun and a knife when he was shot by the officer. Witnesses have said the officer was trying to intervene after witnessing a robbery on the street.

After being shot, Doss ran about a half block to the entrance of the Galleria on East 9th Street and went into the basement. Police reports say Doss was arrested shortly after the officer found him in the basement.

The indictment, filed Wednesday in Cuyahoga County Court of Common Pleas, charges Doss with two counts of felonious assault, three counts of aggravated menacing, assault, carrying a concealed weapon, tampering with evidence and obstructing official business.

Doss previously served time in jail in 2013 after being convicted of attempted felonious assault, according to court records.
