CLEVELAND – Fourth District police are investigating a breaking and entering incident at Fire Station 41 located at 3090 E.116th Street.
According to police, the incident happened at 10:30 p.m. on Friday, August 8.
The preliminary investigation reveals that Fourth District officers responded to a call for a B&E in progress at the station. Upon arrival, officers learned that a male was observed attempting to enter the station through a glass panel door when the door broke. Suspect was observed fleeing from the area. Officers on scene observed the broken panel with what appeared to be blood on it.
Officers then received information that a suspect matching the description of the male attempting to enter the station was at E.116 & Forest allegedly stabbed.
The possible suspect was being treated by EMS for cuts and lacerations to his body.
While being treated by EMS, the male provided inconsistent versions of how he obtained his injuries, but did indicate he went to Firehouse for help.
Based on information from witness, the male was ruled a suspect in the attempted B&E of the station. The male was not arrested as a result of his medical condition. He was conveyed to Metro and confined as a result of his injuries.
At the time of the incident personnel from station #41 were out of the station responding to a fire in progress.
