Logan Sinclair appeared in Parma Municipal Court Wednesday for the fatal shooting of Robert Sposit, the owner of a Sunoco gas station.

Sinclair, accused of shooting and killing Sposit during a robbery Saturday, entered no plea. Though the city asked for a $5 million bond, believing he was a risk to the community, he was given a $3 million by the Parma Municipal Court judge.

The prosecutor said Sinclair also shot at a witness who was helping Sposit after he was shot. That witness is hearing impaired.

Prior to the shooting, Parma Police said Sinclair robbed Charlie's Beverage store on Ridge Road in Cleveland. No one was hurt.

Sinclair, 21, was arrested by Parma police for the armed robbery and fatal shooting at the Sunoco, located at 5385 Pearl Road. He was charged with aggravated murder through the City of Parma Prosecutor's Office.

Police said Sinclair was released from MetroHealth Medical Center after being treated for gunshot wounds he sustained from the robbery.

“We're just in awe, just in awe, we're just shocked," said Johnny Edwards, the ex-boyfriend of Sinclair's mother. “Our sympathies go out to the family. It's just sad, a life is lost, a life is ruined. In actuality, two lives are lost.”

50-year-old Sposit, of Parma, was found dead on Nov. 28 inside of the Sunoco gas station he owned after police received a call at around 7:30 p.m. about shots fired inside the business. Preliminary stages of the investigation revealed that during the robbery, Sposit and Sinclair exchanged gunfire, police said.

A woman who was helping the Sposit family retrieve items from the gas station Wednesday said Sinclair was a regular customer. She also said they unsure whether the station will re-open. The Sposit family declined to comment.

Sinclair, who lived with family in Cleveland and his girlfriend in Parma, has a criminal history of driving with a suspended license in Cleveland.
