Nursing students at ITT Technical Institute told newsnet5.com that the schools shutdown affects even students that have completed their coursework.

The students were told that the pinning ceremony and graduation scheduled for this weekend have been canceled. Those students also said they are having issues accessing their completed transcripts.

On August 26, the U.S. Department of Education issued a ban on ITT Tech from enrolling new students who use federal aid. But according to the school's Facebook page, classes were still set to begin Sept. 12.

Students like Diana Rencher said they received an email Tuesday morning alerting students to the closing.

She later learned from colleagues on Facebook that Saturday’s graduation had been canceled.

“Would you really like to find out that you’re not going to have a graduation on Facebook?” Rencher said. “After going to school and paying thousands and thousands of dollars?”

ITT Tech did not respond to newsnet5.com’s request for comment.

A sign on the Warrensville Height’s building said the building would reopen on Wednesday but students said it is unclear if and when they will receive the diplomas.
