One of the girls who were shot in a drive-by shooting earlier this week has been released from a local hospital.

Elizabeth Davis, 9, was discharged from a Cleveland hospital Friday afternoon, according to an emailed statement from the family. Three-year-old Savannah Davis remained in critical condition.

"We are overwhelmed and grateful for the outpouring of support from the community- all the donations, prayers and visits are so much appreciated," the statement said. "Savannah is in critical condition, but we know she’s a fighter. Please continue praying for her."

The family also thanked emergency responders.

Cleveland police were called Tuesday at about 10:30 p.m.to the 7300 block of Dudley Avenue for a report of a shooting.

Savannah had been shot in the forehead while siting on a woman's lap on the front of a home. Elizabeth was shot in the back.

Both children were taken to the hospital.

It appears the shooting occurred following a robbery by two males who stopped at the home.

Police were still looking for the vehicle involved in the shooting.
