Forrest, the bull mastiff, finds a new home after shooting; warrant issued for his attacker's arrest

SOLON, Ohio - Forrest, the bull mastiff that was shot in the head and left tied to a tree in Forest Hill Park last November, is enjoying his new life and new home.

Cleveland Heights police have charged Raymone Clements with animal cruelty and one count of discharging a firearm.

Officers said the man walked a dog into the Forest Hills Park on November 25, tied the dog to a tree and shot at him four times, hitting him twice.

Police said he then left the bull mastiff for dead.

A dog walker saw the injured dog chained to a tree and called for help.

Thanks to PAWS -- the Public Animal Welfare Society -- Forrest is now living with his new family in Solon on 10 acres of land with the family's other dogs.

On Friday in Solon, Forrest relaxed as his new owner, Robin Stone, strummed on her guitar. They have only lived together two days.

"You can see just how relaxed he is. he walked right in the door and went right to the master bedroom and got on the bed like he knew where he was," said Stone.

"It's shocking it's outrageous I can't imagine somebody chaining a dog to a tree and shooting them and after meeting him and seeing just what a total sweetheart he is, it's incomprehensible," Stone said.

"Unlike anything I'd ever seen my dogs kind of squealed like little girls, they were so excited about it, and they ran up to him as if they knew him already."
