Mexico’s former president paid a visit to Cleveland on Monday.

Vicente Fox told a crowd at Case Western Reserve University that the United States and Mexico should work together on economic issues and he once again denounced efforts to build a wall at the Mexican border.

President Donald Trump campaigned on a promise to force Mexico to pay for that wall, but in March he asked Congress to approve more than four billion dollars just to get construction started.

“It’s not going to be paid for by Mexico. That’s a joke!” Fox said to laughter. "And you remember what I said publicly.”

What he said publicly was that Mexico would not pay for the “f****** wall.”

The talk was part of a series of forums on immigration as part of the 2017 Cleveland Humanities Festival.
