GARFIELD HEIGHTS, Ohio - State fire officials have ruled that a fire at a vacant Garfield Heights house was intentionally set.
The fire started at about 10:30 a.m. on Friday in the 4600 block of Osborn Road.
The Division of State Marshal said they ruled out accidental causes at the single-family house that has been vacant for more than five years. Fire officials would not elaborate on the cause of the fire since this is now a criminal investigation.
There was little damage done during the fire because there was very little inside of the house to burn, investigators said.
There is a reward of up to $5,000 for information about the person responsible for letting the blaze. Another $2,000 reward is being offered by Crime Stoppers. Anyone with information should call the Division of State Fire Marshal at 1-800-589-2728 or Crime Stoppers at 216-252-7463.
