The large fire that broke out at the former Magic Johnson Movie Theatre by the old Randall Park Mall was ruled an arson on Friday by the State Fire Marshal.
Investigators were at the scene Thursday night trying to determine what caused the fire. It spread to the roof and into at least one theater. North Randall officials told newsnet5.com that no injuries were reported.
The fire was mostly contained as of 10:40 p.m. Thursday.
Bedford Heights Fire Chief Ken Ledford told reporter Homa Bash the biggest challenge was getting water to douse the flames because the complex was a vacant demolition site.
Randall Park Mall was closed in 2009. Demolition began in December 2014.
