Electrical pole fires cause 20,000 outages in Parma and Brook Park area

CLEVELAND - Electrical pole fires in Parma caused 20,000 outages today, FirstEnergy said today.

Conditions were perfect for the fires today, spokesperson Mark Durbin added, because the ice and rain hit after salt had built up inside the equipment on the poles.

As of 12:42 p.m., the outages from these fires had been restored but some traffic was being rerouted around the intersection of Snow Road and W. 54th Street.
