The victim of a violent carjacking is speaking out, hoping others will keep their guard up.
A man, who wanted to be identified as “Jay,” said he was pumping gas at the Sunoco station at 15237 Euclid Avenue around 10:45 p.m. Friday night when he got carjacked by two men with hand guns.
“As soon as I got in the car, closed the door, started it up, the guy opened the door, at gunpoint told me to get out of the car,” Jay recalled. "I exited the vehicle. Another guy came around from the back of the car, went into my pockets, took my money, took my phone.”
Jay said the robbers got away with his iPhone, $1,000 in cash as well as his 2009 Lexus GS 350. They were so bold, he said, they didn’t even bother to cover their faces.
“I was kind of glad when they pulled off in the car. I didn’t want to get shot, so I was kind of glad when they pulled off in the car because I wasn’t hurt,” he said.
East Cleveland Police said his car had already been recovered, but his expensive aftermarket tires and rims were missing.
