Man found dead with gunshot wound inside car on Matherson Avenue on Cleveland's west side

CLEVELAND - A man was found dead inside a car on Cleveland's west side Friday morning.

Cleveland police found the man slumped in a black Mercury Sable parked on Matherson Avenue at about 8 a.m. EMS pronounced the man dead at the scene. He appeared to have a gunshot wound to the head, police said.

Officers said that a resident heard a gunshot at about 2 a.m. but did not call police.  At about 8 a.m., another resident saw the victim slumped over in the driver's seat of the vehicle and called police.

The medical examiner's office identified the victim as Robert Harris,19, of Maple Heights.
