Cuyahoga County children enjoy last days of winter break

CLEVELAND - Some children spent the day tunneling, running and jumping through giant, blow-up obstacle courses at the Jumpyard in North Royalton. It's not a bad way to spend the end of winter break and moms couldn't be happier.

"It's a freezing cold day so we decided to come and find something warm to do out here," Beth Green said. She brought four youngsters with her. "The kids of all ages are having a blast out here."

"I really like going around in the bouncy houses and it's fun when we go in the game room and play around," said Beth's daughter, Emma.

She said she usually likes to play outside to play, but it's been too cold lately.

"I love to go out and play in the snow with my friends and it's really fun to go out and when the water freezes, we got out and skate on the ice," she said.

Many moms opted to whisk their little ones away to a tropical rainforest at the Cleveland Metroparks Zoo.

"It's fun to see all the different kinds of animals that may live in a rainforest somewhere else," said 11-year-old Ashley Kuhrt.

"We love coming to the rainforest, especially in the winter. We try to make it an annual or couple times a year," said Ashley's mother.

"So they know once they come in here, the kids will be able to take their coats off and move around and learn about animals at the same time," said zoo spokesperson Joe Yachanin.
