A Cleveland police officer is out of the hospital and recovering after he was assaulted and thrown through a glass window Friday night.

Meanwhile, the man accused of assault is in jail after getting tazed and tackled by officers.

It happened at Panini's on Prospect Ave. near E. 9th St. Friday night shortly after 11 p.m.

According to an incident report, the officer involved was working off-duty as a security guard when Brian Brack, 23, of Canton, and Destiny Dixon, 20, of Ravenna, entered the restaurant.

The couple was asked to leave multiple times, officers said, after Dixon was spotted drinking a Long Island Iced Tea even though she had already been carded and denied alcohol.

That's when Brack got into an argument with the off-duty officer, punching him and shoving him through a window, before running away.

Newsnet5.com has learned the off-duty officer's identity, but has chosen not to name him out of respect for his privacy.

The officer was bleeding profusely and had blood on his face, head and left arm, the incident report said.

Witnesses said Dixon also attacked the officer before she was arrested.

Brack took off on foot but was arrested and taken into custody shortly after several Cleveland police officers took him down using a stun gun.

They're facing several charges including felonious assault on a police officer, vandalism, resisting arrest and criminal trespass.
