Cleveland Police investigating home invasion

Cleveland Police is investigating a home invasion at 3090 W. 112th St. near Belmont Park that took place Tuesday at 10 p.m.

The victims said two unknown white males entered the home and robbed 46-year-old William Maerlender and 43-year-old John Duka.

Officers reported that Maerlender was sitting in his living room when two unknown males entered through an unlocked door demanding money. When he stood up, one of the suspects hit him with a hammer and took his $500 out of his wallet and his cell phone before duct taping his mouth and hands.

Duka told police he was threatened by one of the suspects before they took $300 from him.

Maerlender was treated for facial fractures and a laceration.

Police said one suspect is a 5-foot-10 white male weighing 200 pounds. The other suspect is a 5-foot-9 white male weighing 160 pounds with missing teeth and tattoos on both eyelids.
