A marked police car crashed into a utility pole Friday, shearing it, after a van failed to yield to the police whose lights and sirens were operating, according to Cleveland police.
Officers said they were traveling westbound on Kinsman Road and entered an intersection when a green van, traveling southbound on East 79th Street, also drove into the intersection.
Police tried to prevent an accident and avoid hitting vehicles parked on Kinsman Road. After they sheared the pole, the police car came to a stop at the corner of East 78th Street and Kinsman Road.
