PD: Body in burning car investigated as homicide

A body was found inside a car that was on fire on Tuesday, according to Cleveland Fire Department officials. 

Cleveland Fire said the department responded to the area of Larchmere Boulevard and East 121st Street for a report of a small fire inside a car. 

The department said they received the call about the fire around 1:30 p.m. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene by EMS. He had several gunshot wounds. He has not been identified.

Police said witnesses reported hearing gunshots and called police after seeing the car on fire in the street.

Members of the Homicide Unit along with the Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner's Office responded to the scene for investigation. The CCMEO will determine the final cause of death.

This incident is still being investigated as a homicide.
