Cleveland packed full of fun and exciting events this weekend: festivals, football, music and more

CLEVELAND - Back to school commercials and sales are starting to pop up everywhere, which means summer is almost over. Get outside and enjoy one of the many exciting events and activities Cleveland has to offer this weekend before its too late.

Rascal Flatts and Sheryl Crow light up Blossom

Tonight, country music stars Rascal Flatts and Sheryl Crow will join forces for a blowout show at Blossom Music Center. Come on out and sing along with all your favorite hits including the Rascal Flatts latest single, "Rewind" that has put their name back in the headlines. Opening acts start at 7 p.m. and tickets are $50.

Twilight at the Zoo

The Cleveland Zoological Society will be hosting Twilight at the Zoo tonight at 7 p.m. featuring 18 live bands from multiple music genres including funk, folk, rock and reggae. The party will be rocking until midnight on Wildlife Way at the Cleveland Metroparks Zoo. Tickets are $80 or you can block off 10 for $700.


On Sunday, August 3, join 35,000 fellow northeast Ohions for the 14th annual FEST on Euclid Avenue in Wickliffe. From noon till 10 p.m. families and friends will have the opportunity to enjoy live Christian bands, BMX shows, games, delicious food, an evening mass and end the day with a breath-taking fireworks show. Don't miss out on this one-of-a-kind free family festival.

Twins Days Festival

If you have a twin, then you'll want to be in Twinsburg this weekend as the world's largest gathering of twins takes place Friday through Sunday for the annual Twins Days Festival. The event is open for all twins, identical, fraternal, triplets, etc. and their families. No matter your age, if you have a twin, head on out to Twinsburg this weekend and enjoy three days full of food, games and live entertainment. 

Browns Family Day

The NFL season is right around the corner and now its time for you to get your first look at the 2014 Cleveland Browns under the direction of new head coach Mike Pettine. This Saturday, starting at 9 a.m. at Akron's Infocision Stadium , the Browns will be hosting Family Day 2014 offering football fans and friends a like the opportunity to enjoy a day full of fun activities including a zip line, inflatables and a face-painting stations before the team takes the field for an intrasquad scrimmage. Come on out for a look at stars Brian Hoyer, Johnny Manziel, Joe Haden and more.

Cleveland Gladiators Playoff Game

Attention all football fans, the Cleveland Gladiators are in the playoffs and need your help to continue their quest to bring a title home to Cleveland. This Saturday night, your league-record setting 17-win Gladiators take on the Philadelphia Soul the Quicken Loans Arena in a battle for Arena Football League glory. Kickoff is at 7 p.m. and tickets start at $10.

Celebrate Jim Thome with the Cleveland Indians

It's crunch time for the Cleveland Indians baseball fans. As the season begins to wind down, the Tribe are beginning to make their move toward a playoff run. Starting tonight, the Tribe will open up a three-game weekend series against the Texas Rangers at Progressive Field. Tonight is dollar dog night allowing fans of all ages to fill their stomachs with Sugardale Hot Dogs without breaking the bank. Saturday night, the Tribe will celebrate Jim Thome in the revealing of a replica statue as the long-time slugger returns to Cleveland. Both games will conclude with a fireworks performance. First pitch is at 7:05 p.m.

Lake County Captains 'Major League' Night

If you are looking for something a little bit cheaper, but still want to enjoy some of America's past time, then the Lake County Captains game is the place for you. Tonight, the Captains are celebrating the 25 year anniversary of the baseball classic movie "Major League". The first 1,500 fans in the park will receive a Jobu Bobblehead  to celebrate the anniversary. The game will be immediately followed by fireworks.

Pro Football Hall of Fame Enshrinement

On Saturday, the Pro Football Hall of Fame in Canton will welcome seven new members to their prestigious family, and they want to celebrate with all football fans. All weekend long, the Hall of Fame will be hosting a number of events including live entertainment, parades, pigskin run, beauty pagaents and of course a wide variety of food vendors. Head on down to Canton and welcome Derrick Brooks, Ray Guy, Claude Humphrey, Walter Jones, Andre Reed, Michael Strahan and Aeneas Williams as they join 280 football legends in the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

Richland County Fair

The Richland County Fair is back and ready to rock out this weekend with live music, tons of food, competitions and live sport entertainment to fill your weekend with smiles. The party gets started this Sunday at 9 a.m. on N. Home road in Mansfield and will continue through the week.

Medina County Fair

If you haven't already made your way out to Medina County Fairgrounds for the Medina County Fair , make it a destination for this weekend as the show continues to party trough

the weekend, offering all the opportunity to catch some live country music, check out a BMX show, laugh on some rides and close the weekend with some fireworks. Tickets are sold at the door and cost no more than $5.

Vintage Ohio Wine Festival

If you enjoy a fine wine or consider yourself a bit of a wine connoisseur, you may want to head out to Lake Metroparks Farmpark for the 20th annual Vintage Ohio Wine Festival . From now through Saturday evening, the festival will feature a wide array of wines from Chardonnay to Cabernet Franc to Riesling and a number of food choices only to end the evening with beautiful fireworks.
