Cleveland hosts national 'Rock the Tot' championship

CLEVELAND - How many tater tots could you eat in three minutes? It was the goal of a national eating championship.

Saturday, Cleveland played host to the annual "Rock the Tot" championship.

Five finalists from around the country gathered at Bar Louie Cleveland hoping to be crowned the winner.

The finalists were chosen in September from individual contests at Bar Louie locations throughout the country. This year's finalists included Bob Kuhns of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Molly Schuyler of Kansas City, Missouri,  Jose Carbajal of Hyde Park-Chicago, Illinois,  Brian Feldman of Washington D.C., and  Sean Mulcahey of Cincinnati, Ohio.

They were all flown to Cleveland and were offered the opportunity to tour the Rock 'N' Roll Hall of Fame and Museum before the contest.

Molly Schuyler dominated the competition. She managed to eat more than six pounds of tater tots in the three minutes allowed. A team of judges watched closely and verified how many pounds each contestant consumed.

When asked what her secret is, Molly, said simply, "I swallow as fast as I can and don't choke."

She is no stranger to eating competitions. Molly said she has spent the last four weeks competing in other events. She has eaten pizza, fried mushrooms, dumplings, and pumpkin pie.

Along with bragging rights, Molly wins $500, a trophy, and free tater tots for life.

Bar Louie is located at 1352 W. 6th Street in the heart of Downtown Cleveland's Warehouse District.
