Cleveland’s known for its world-renowned hospitals and now those providers are making sure the 50,000 people in town for the Republican National Convention know it.

Four major hospital systems are teaming up to provide a special phone number for convention attendees to call for medical help.

The number, which is not being made public, so that Cleveland residents won’t tie up the lines, is being staffed by medical professionals from University Hospitals, The Cleveland Clinic, MetroHealth and St. Vincent.

They’ve teamed up to provide a 24-hour hotline with information on nurses, prescription drugs and more.

“We just think it shows the delegates, the VIPs and the media that wow this is a great town with great healthcare,” University Hospitals Chief Medical Officer Dr. Michael Anderson said, “And once again, the fact that we’re collaborating on this is fantastic.”

Anyone with a true medical emergency should continue to call 911.
