CLEVELAND - A forum at Cleveland State University will examine transportation policies as a civil rights issue.
Bike Cleveland and the Northeast Ohio Sustainable Communities Consortium host the discussion Thursday, June 13 at 4 p.m. at Cleveland State University's Levin College of Urban Affairs, 1717 Euclid Ave.
Participants will explore ways in which our transportation policies reinforce segregation and exacerbate inequality in Ohio.
Speakers will explain how minority groups, the elderly and people with disabilities bear a disproportionate burden for transportation decision making that favors driving over other modes of transportation.
Featured speaker at the forum is Samuel Gresham Jr., former head of the Columbus Urban League and the Ohio Commission on African American Males. Mr. Gresham Jr. is current chair of Common Cause Ohio.
