Cleveland Police investigate gas station shootout

Cleveland Police are investigating a shootout at a local gas station that left two drivers injured.

According to Cleveland Police, officers were called out to the Marathon gas station located at E.55th and Woodland Avenue around 3:09 a.m. for shots fired.

The preliminary investigation reveals that one of the victims was pulling into the gas station at E. 55th and Woodland when he heard several shots and his vehicle was struck with one of the rounds which shattered his window. He suffered injuries from glass going into his eyes.

The second victim was entering the store area of the gas station and heard several shots and was struck in the forearm. Both victims stated they do not know the shooters, but witnessed occupants of two separate vehicles shooting at one another.

Both victims were transported to MetroHealth Medical Center for treatment.
