Cleveland Cavaliers power forward Channing Frye has been excused by the team following the death of his father Friday.
Frye's father, Thomas Frye, passed away Thursday, according to a brief statement by the team. The cause of Thomas Frye's death is unknown.
Frye will be not be playing in Friday's game against the Dallas Mavericks. The team has expressed their sympathies to Frye and his family. They have not said when he will rejoin the team.
Last month, Frye mother, Karen Mulzac-Frye, died after losing a long battle with cancer.
