A message posted on Facebook reads: "Mitch was amazing and we will always remember him for his positive attitude and short shorts. We love you Mitch! Please keep his girlfriend Constance in your thoughts, as she was hit as well."

Cleveland and Lakewood police departments said the driver, a 35-year-old Lakewood man, was drunk.

The crash happened in the area of West 117th Street and Clifton Avenue around 7 p.m. The car drove through a street barricade and into the crowd.

Clifton Avenue was blocked off from W. 116th to W. 117th for the 28th annual "Dancin' in the Streets" party, one of Cleveland's biggest LGBT events which raises money and awareness about LGBT and the HIV/AIDS community.
