A Lakewood woman suffered injuries Friday night after she was attacked by a man who was burglarizing her home.
The incident happened around 6:15 p.m. at an apartment located in the 1300 block of Giel near Merl avenues, according to Lakewood Police.
Officers say the female victim arrived home to find a burglar inside of her apartment.
The male suspect began attacking the woman, but she was able to fight him off. She was transported to the Lakewood Hospital to be treated for minor injuries.
Police said the suspect fled the apartment in an unknown direction. Authorities only have a vague description of him.
The investigation is on-going.
