The names linger in Cleveland Brown folklore for fans young and old to hold on to.

Courtney Brown, Kamerion Wimbley, Brady Quinn and Trent Richardson are all former Cleveland Brown highly touted first round selections that all left falling well short of expectations.

The new Browns' regime led by Executive Vice President Sashi Brown and Head Coach Hue Jackson will be out to avoid adding to the list of misses as the 2016 NFL Draft gets underway.

Cleveland begins the day with 12 total picks in the draft and the eighth pick overall but some NFL insiders have speculated the team will drop down once again to amass even more selections.

Whatever picks they do end up with, draft experts like NFL sportswriter and former player Bucky Brooks believe the Browns need to make them count.

"A couple of years ago they were in a similar situation, a number of picks, everything is right there and the players that they picked didn't necessarily pan out," said Brooks. "So it's important that the guys they get come and play and they don't have the off the field distractions that prevent them from being the contributors they expect them to be."

The draft gets underway with the first round tonight at 8 p.m. The Browns will hold their official Draft Watch party at Public Auditorium with doors opening at 6:30p.m.
