BROOKLYN, Ohio - The city of Brooklyn is planning a day of events to commemorate Memorial Day.
On Monday May 27 at 9:30 a.m. there will be a service at West Park Cemetery, near the flagpole area.
Following the service there will be a parade beginning at Brooklyn High School, located at 9200 Biddulph Road, at 11 a.m. Participants should arrive no later than 10:45 a.m. to register their organization with an on-site employee. Everyone is invited to participate in the day's events, and bike riders are encouraged to decorate their vehicles for the parade.
After the parades arrival at the city of Brooklyn Memorial Park, there will be a commemorative service at noon.
Following this ceremony the Brooklyn Police and Fire Departments will host a picnic lunch at the Grande Pavilion, where all proceeds will benefit the Metro Hospital Burn Unit and Brooklyn's D.A.R.E. Program.
