LAKEWOOD, Ohio - The Coast Guard rescued two people in Lake Erie when their sailboat capsized Friday afternoon.
The 16-foot boat overturned about 300 yards offshore from Lakewood around 3 p.m.
The Coast Guard said the two victims were sharing a lifejacket because they only had time to grab one when the sailboat sapsized. Emergency crews checked out the boaters at Edgewater Marina.
The sailboat is still in Lake Erie. According to the Coast Guard, it is mostly submerged with only a small part of the hull sticking out of the water. No pollution from the vessel was reported.
