Animals displaced from the wrath of Hurricane Florence arrived at a Parma animal shelter Thursday.

Coming from the Hilton Head Humane Society located at Hilton Head Island, South Carolina, 30 to 40 cats, kittens and puppies will await adoption at the Northeast Ohio SPCA Pet Shelter, 9555 Brookpark Road.

They will be examined by veterinarians, spayed and neutered, and receive vaccinations before they are placed up for adoption.

“Our shelter is humbled by the opportunity to help the animals from the Hilton Head area,” said Jeff Kocian, executive director of the Northeast Ohio SPCA. “We are eager to help them find forever homes and hope the best for both the residents and pets that are in the path of Hurricane Florence.”

Northeast Ohio SPCA partnered with Puppy Pipeline Rescue of Georgia to transport the animals to their facility. Both organizations covered transportation expenses, which usually consists of a $40 fee per animal.

If you're interested in giving an animal a loving home, contact the shelter at 216-351-7387.
