CLEVELAND - Local food banks are on a mission to reach a goal -- to raise enough money to pay for 17 million meals for families in need.
You can help by donating to the Harvest for Hunger campaign. Food banks in our state, including the Cleveland Food Bank and the Akron-Canton Regional Food Bank take part in the campaign, collecting donations.
Typically, every dollar you donate provides four meals to local families, but up until Friday, each donated dollar will give families eight meals.
That's thanks to a dollar-for-dollar match program by private donors and local sponsors American Greetings and Lincoln Electric. Sponsors have agreed to match up to $25,000.
