Across the United States, convicted sex offenders are disappearing from their required registry by claiming homelessness. It's a problem that plagues law enforcement and puts communities in danger.

One such man is Frank Kehoe, who U.S. Marshals are still on the hunt for. He plead guilty to sex crimes against two young girls, was labeled a sex offender and then he disappeared.

As a sex offender he is required to register with Cuyahoga County Sheriff’s Office, but police say Kehoe registered as homeless.

“We don’t believe he is genuinely homeless. He had registered at a shelter in Cleveland in 2013. The sheriff’s office quickly determined that he wasn’t, when they did compliance checks,” said US Deputy Marshal Bill Boldin.

The 41-year-old has been under the radar for three years. Now the US Marshals are on the hunt for Kehoe because of his failure to register. Boldin said although there are sex offenders who are homeless, the majority who register that way are not. He said it is a problem for law enforcement but should be a concern for everyone.

“When people try to check with the sheriff’s office, take care of their families and watch their children, these names aren’t showing up. That’s a big problem,” added Boldin.

US Marshals believe he is in the Cleveland area. Anyone with information about his whereabouts should call the US Marshals at 1-866-4-WANTED. Reward money is available.
