An 18-year-old woman is dead and a 21-year-old man is facing charges after a shooting at a Brooklyn apartment Wednesday evening.

At 7:39 p.m., Brooklyn Police received a call from a man who said he had shot his roommate in the chest at the apartment on Ridge Road.

In the 911 call obtained by newsnet5.com, the man said he was holding a gun that he thought was not loaded and it fired.

Medics rushed to the scene and transported the woman—identified as Olivia Stull, of Parma—to MetroHealth Medical Center where she was pronounced dead. On Facebook, she was described as a sweet, beautiful, amazing woman who was full of life.

A 21-year-old man, identified as Michael Lancaster of Brooklyn, was taken into custody for questioning. He was later charged with reckless homicide.

Lancaster appeared in court Thursday morning, where he was given a $25,000 bond. He has no criminal history in the area.

NOTE: Police originally reported the woman's age as 21 years old.
