WINDSOR, Ohio - A fire that broke out at 4 a.m. Sunday at a lumber yard in Windsor continues to burn.
The Ashtabula County Sheriff's Office says 15-20 different departments are at the scene still fighting the blaze.
The fire is at J.D. Hardwoods on State Route 534 in Windsor.
Windsor Fire Department chief Dave Turk said the blaze began as a mulch fire on its own -- spontaneous combustion -- and spread quickly because of the gusty winds.
A few small structures and a piece of mulching equipment was damaged, but not the main building.
One firefighter was injured after slipping on ice and cutting his head.
There have been no evacuations and no chemicals were involved.
Firefighters from multiple departments will stay at the scene for several more hours to make sure there are no hot spots.
Since there are no hydrants in the area, water had to be brought in to put out blaze.
