Geneva bank robber jumps counter in new surveillance video released by FBI

GENEVA, Ohio - The Cleveland FBI is ramping up its efforts to find the man who robbed the Key Bank in Geneva.

The FBI just released surveillance video of the robbery that happened at the South Broadway Key Bank at 11:52 the morning of Saturday, March 15.

Special Agent Vicki Anderson said, “He scaled the counter. The teller and bank manager were standing back behind the counter, and he actually jumped over the teller's counter and went back and told them that he needed money."

The robber wore all black clothing, including jeans, jacket and baseball hat. He also wore a white surgical mask.

The FBI described the suspect as an African-American man who may be in his 20s; he was about 5’5” to 5’7” and about 140 to 170 pounds.

The robber did not display a weapon. No customers were in the bank at the time, and no employees were injured. The robber ran off with an undisclosed amount of money.

Anyone with information should call the Cleveland office of the FBI at 216-522-1400. A reward is available and tipsters can remain anonymous.
