Ashtabula County judge's wife pleads guilty, sentenced 2 years for poisoning judge with antifreeze

ASHTABULA, Ohio - The wife of Ashtabula County Judge Charles Hague was sentenced to two years in prison Wednesday after she pleaded guilty to felonious assault for poisoning her husband with antifreeze.

Judge Hague was rushed to the Cleveland Clinic September 15, 2013 and tests revealed had a high level of ethylene glycol, the primary compound in antifreeze. 

Family members filed a complaint with the Ashtabula County Sheriff's Department a few days later.

The judge's wife, Carla Rae Hague was arrested December 2, 2013 by police for the incident.

Carla originally pleaded not guilty in the case.
