Fire crews respond to Ashland University overnight after smoke fills Redwood Hall

Smoke fills Redwood Hall

ASHLAND, Ohio - Ashland firefighters responded to reports of a campus building filling with smoke early Thursday morning at Ashland University.

On scene, firefighters located smoke coming from the Redwood Hall at 1005 King Hall.

According to Ashland fire operators, nothing inside the building caught fire. The origin of the smoke remains under investigation.

Students were not evacuated overnight since the hall was comprised of an older kitchen facility and not dorms.

Ashland University Safety Services officials said classes will resume as normal Thursday.
