NewsChannel5's Lee Jordan receives Excellence in Television award

CLEVELAND - The Cleveland Association of Broadcasters honored NewsChannel5 anchor Lee Jordan with an award for Excellence in Television at a luncheon on Wednesday.

The 21st Annual Awards for Excellence in Broadcasting Luncheon was held at Windows on the River at noon. Jordan's award will be presented by NewsChannel5 Meteorologist Mark Johnson.

Jordan has become one of Cleveland's most popular personalities in her more than 20 years in Cleveland television.

Through her many years in television broadcasting, Lee has held the anchor chair on programs ranging from sports to entertainment to town hall news specials. Her reporting has taken her to Europe, the Middle East and Central America.

Jordan has been with WEWS since she came to Cleveland in 1987 as a co-host of The Morning Exchange. She is currently anchoring Live on Five and NewsChannel5 at 6 p.m.

Other award recipients include Bill Applegate for excellence in managment at WOIO/WUAB and Mark "Munch" Bishop for excellence in radio at WKNR.
