AKRON, OH- Akron police are looking for two men who stole thousands of dollars in shoes from a Villa store in Arlington Plaza.

According to police, the two suspects cut a hole in the metal roof, using an ax, to break inside and steal more than twenty pairs of Nike Air Jordan shoes.

Akron Lt. Rick Edwards said they're having a hard time identifying the suspects;

"We have two suspects from the actual surveillance video we can see, but we can't tell white or black at this point. We're asking that anybody that has any information on the suspects or people that come home with 20 pairs of shoes that doesn't seem normal, to please contact our agency."

The Villa store manager would not go on camera, but according to police, there have been similar thefts at other store locations.

Arlington Plaza customers, like Nancy Howard, called it crazy.

"They could have killed themselves getting up there! That high."

Howard said she's never heard of crime like this where she lives and she hopes the two men are caught and held accountable.

"Working is always better than looking over your shoulder for the police after you done did something like that."

Lt. Edwards said he wants you to keep an eye out- because whoever stole 20 pairs of Air Jordan shoes probably wasn't looking to expand their wardrobe.

"If you see somebody driving around trying to sell you shoes out of a car you might want to contact the police department, that's not normal. Someone who stole 20 pairs of shoes- that's not personal use. They're looking to make some money."

The two men responsible for this are looking at breaking and entering and felony charges.
