Weeks of trash and garbage that had piled up outside an East Cleveland apartment complex is being hauled away following a NewsChannel 5 investigation into complaints.

We first reported conditions outside the Forest Hill Park Apartments, 13995 Superior Ave., Sunday evening. Our cameras captured mounds of trash and garbage overflowing dumpsters.

On Monday, East Cleveland housing inspectors issued a citation ordering the trash to be removed.

Meanwhile, NewsChannel 5 contacted the owner, Linked Economic Development and Affordable Housing Foundation - East Cleveland. LEDAHF purchased the property on Sept. 25, 2015 and a new property management firm has also taken over.

A spokesperson for LEDIC, the new hired property management firm, said it was unaware that the previous trash contract had expired under the old ownership but promised the problem would be quickly resolved.

Trash is now being hauled away and leaking sewage pipe and broken glass  in a doorway have also been repaired as a result of our investigation.
