CLEVELAND,Ohio - A large crowd of family and friends attended a vigil Saturday night on Cleveland's west side to remember a 5-year-old boy who was killed, while on his way to school.
Israel Thornton was fatally struck by a vehicle Friday morning on W.37th Street and Denison Avenue.
The driver of the vehicle never stopped and is still at large.
Saturday night, nearly a hundred of people attended a vigil at the scene of Friday's fatal accident urging the driver, who struck and killed Thornton, to turn their self in.
"We know that him (Thornton) losing his life is not in vain. We hope the individual who did this will come forth and bring some type of closure to the family," said Thornton's youth pastor, Brian Timberlake.
