CLEVELAND - A 59-year-old woman was hit by a car and thrown into traffic on Cleveland's west side Wednesday afternoon.
The woman was getting into her car, which was parked on Lorain Avenue near West 65th Street, at about 1 p.m. when she was hit. The victim was flung underneath another car, while her purse was stuck on the mirror of the suspect's vehicle, Cleveland police said.
The woman's son saw it all happen and called for help. She was taken to MetroHealth Medical Center, but her condition is not known at this time.
Police said the car involved was found in the Home Depot parking lot on West 117th Street and the 26-year-old suspect was located soon after. He was arrested for aggravated vehicular assault and taken to Fairview Hospital for medical treatment.
The Cleveland Division of Police released his name, but it is NewsChannel5 policy not to publish a suspect's identity until charges have been filed.
