CLEVELAND - One of the people accused in the death of a Cleveland woman whose body was mistaken for a deer along Interstate 90 has pleaded guilty.
Latesha Santos, 23, pleaded guilty to involuntary manslaughter, aggravated robbery and gross abuse of a corpse in the death of 26-year-old Angel Bradley-Crockett.
Bradley-Crockett's body was discovered during morning rush hour traffic on I-90 near West 41st Street in Cleveland on April 5, 2010.
Last year, Stephon Davis, 30, was indicted on four counts of aggravated murder, two counts of kidnapping, two counts of aggravated robbery, one count of tampering with evidence and one count of gross abuse of a corpse.
Prosecutors said Davis and Santos lured the mother of three into a van, where they robbed her and strangled her. Santos agreed to 10 years in prison and to testily against Davis.
A sentencing date for Santos has not been set. Davis will appear in court on Feb. 28.
The two Cleveland police officers who mistook the body for a deer were suspended for six months without pay. Several people called 911 to report the possible body on the side of the road.
